Knoxville City Council approved entering into a sewer revenue loan and disbursement agreement for $5,899,000 at its Monday meeting. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery spoke to KNIA/KRLS News about the deal.
“It’s for our water reclamation facility upgrade project. The biggest part of the project is disinfection, which is a DNR-mandated upgrade. In addition, there are also electrical upgrades in the project. The loan is overseen by the Iowa Finance Authority and is one of the best financing options a municipality can use for a project like this.
