Alpine open to loan deal for Piastri
Oscar Piastri is one of the drivers who many believe deserves a place in Formula 1, but as long as no place is available he is forced to sit on the reserve bench. Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi, however, offered a possible solution.
Rossi doesn’t want to keep Piastri waiting indefinitely for an F1 seat and stresses the importance of developing a talented driver like him. “He has to be ready when the day comes, and the day will come, because he is extremely talented,” he says Fox Sports.
Alpine wants to keep the option on Piastri
The Alpine boss is therefore not negative about the possibility of loaning his reserve driver to a rival team, but he does not specify whether he is in talks with other teams on the matter.
“If it’s a solution that allows me to recover it at some point, I could think about it” He continued. “For me, the ideal scenario is that he wins races and championships with us.“, concludes Rossi.
